The Salvation Army announces the closing event of the Norwegian project

The “Salvation Army Christian Mission” Association invites you on Tuesday, July 4th, at 10.30 AM, to the event that marks the closing of the “Community Centres Salvation Army Iasi and Ploiesti” project, financed by Norway Grants under the program “RO25 Poverty Alleviation”.

The purpose of the “Community Centres Salvation Army Iasi and Ploiesti” program is to provide support to poverty-stricken communities by encouraging early education for children with social vulnerabilities, preventing school drop-out, social and medical assistance, creating community centres and social enterprises, as well as providing social services packages. Initially conceived as a project to help people from disadvantaged environments in Ploiesti and Iasi, the program has developed quickly, offering various services to people living in poverty and extreme poverty in four cities in Romania: Bucharest, Ploiesti, Iasi, Bacau.

Through this project, the “Salvation Army Christian Mission” has created: two community centres, a mobile team that offers social-medical services to homeless people in Bucharest, a social enterprise that has six shops and a warehouse in four cities in Romania, two sewing workshops for professional training and employment of vulnerable people. There have been provided various information services, guidance, counselling, evaluation, education, school counselling, social and medical assistance, vocational and professional training, and labour mediation.

The program was implemented with the financial support of Norway Grants within the “RO25 Poverty Alleviation” program. The partners of the project are The Salvation Army Romania Association, The Salvation Army Norway Association and SALVATtex.

During this event, the “Christian Mission Salvation Army” Association wishes to highlight the impact and main outcomes of the project and to thank the donors, partners, governmental and non-governmental institutions.
