The Red Kettle began with the use of the kitchen soup bucket in San Francisco. It was used to raise the money needed to continue to provide food throughout the year for those in need. In the US Salvation Army, for almost 100 years, it is one of the most important means of fundraising and has remained the same to this day.
Millions of dollars are raised each year to support the work of the Salvation Army. You’ve probably recognized this Red Kettle of the Salvation Army even in movies and songs because many Christmas themes feature this unique tradition of giving.
Thank you for your continued support!
